Notre Noël en Arizona ~ Our Christmas in Arizona

En route pour Yuma, nous avons passé par la route Hwy 86 pour se rendre jusqu' à la petite ville de Why et la Hwy 85 pour passer à Ajo pour enfin reprendre la I-8 à Gila Bend. Nous avons continué pour se rendre à Yuma pour rencontrer nos amis au BLM (LTVA) à Pilot Knob. Avant Noël, nous avons décoré l'intérieur de la roulotte avec des guirlandes et notre petit sapin. Une autre journée, nous sommes allés visiter d'autres BLM, le marché aux puces et le fameux magasin Harbor Freight. Nous avons aussi réussi à faire cuire un souper dans la mijoteuse avec de l'électricité venant des panneaux solaires. La veille de Noël, on se rend à l'église Champion pour voir un spectacle de Nativité "Jesus is Born". Ce spectacle était une mise en scène à grand déploiement avec un cheval des ânes, et des moutons. Nous étions assis sur des bales de foin. C'était un spectacle extraordinaire. Ensuite nous sommes allés nous promener sur une rue décorée de lumières de Noël. Le jour de Noël, nous avons participé à l'organisation d'un Pot Luck de Noël avec une vingtaine de nos amis du désert. Nous avons bien mangé, joué des jeux et jasé toute l'après-midi. Ce fut notre premier Noël loin de notre famille. Toutes les photos du voyage sont ici.

On our way to Yuma, we went by Hwy 86 to the small town of Why and then Hwy 85 to Ajo and finally we toke the I-8 back at Gila Bend. We went on to Yuma to meet our friends at the BLM (LTVA) in Pilot Knob. Before Christmas, we decorated the interior of the trailer with garlands and our little Christmas tree. Another day, we visited other BLMs, the flea market and the famous Harbor Freight store. We also managed to cook a dinner in the slow cooker with electricity from the solar panels. On Christmas Eve, we went to the Champion Church to see a live Nativity Show "Jesus is Born". This play was staged with great decor with a horse, some donkeys and sheep. We were sitting on hay bales. It was an extraordinary play. Then we went for a stroll on a street decorated with Christmas lights. On Christmas Day, we helped organize a Christmas Luck Pot with some twenty of our desert friends. We ate well, played games and chatted all afternoon. This was our first Christmas away from the family. All the photos from the trip are here.
