Quartzsite Arizona

On s'installe pour plus qu'une semaine dans le BLM La Posa West dans la ville de Quartzsite en Arizona. Il y a plusieurs BLM et LTVA dans cette région, car le plus gros rassemblement de motorisés se passe ici annuellement à la fin de janvier. Cette année nous avons décidé de vivre cette expérience avec des milliers d'autres campeurs. Pendant notre séjour, nous avons visité le gros "RV show", le Cibola National Refuge, le Kofa National Refuge, et la région avoisinante. Cette année était le 25e anniversaire du Quartzsite RV Show. Sous une immense tente, on retrouve des centaines de commerçants qui veulent nous vendre leurs produits. Il y a plusieurs concessionnaires de VR qui nous permettent de visiter l'intérieur des motorisés et des roulottes de toutes sortes. Un des concessionnaires nous offre un déjeuner de crêpes tous les matins. Ce show attire des milliers de gens avec leur motorisé, leurs roulottes. Les gens se stationnent un peu partout et se regroupent en petits groupes d'amis comme on peut le voir dans le vidéo et les photos. Cibola National Refuge, près de Palo Verde, est un refuge pour les oiseaux migrateurs où on a pu voir plusieurs outardes, canards, grande aigrette, grue du Canada et un beau coyote. Sur notre chemin de retour, on se promène sur les deux côtés de la rivière Colorado. Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour visiter le Oxbow Recreation Area qui est un beau terrain de camping que nous aimerions y rester dans le futur. Tout près de Quartzsite se trouve aussi le Kofa National Refuge où nous nous sommes rendus à l'entrée du Palm Canyon. Nous nous sommes promenés dans la région et avons visité les petites villes de Hope et Wenden ainsi que les multiples marchés aux puces de Quartzsite et le monument Hi Joly. Nous avons aussi vu des champs de culture de coton. Ronald s'est promené en VTT ( 4 roues) avec notre ami Réjean dans les montagnes tout près du camping. We settled for more than a week in the BLM La Posa West in the city of Quartzsite Arizona. There are several BLMs and LTVAs in this area, as the largest gathering of RVs happens here annually at the end of January. This year, we decided to experience this event with tens of thousands of other campers. During our stay, we visited the big "RV show", the Cibola National Refuge, the Kofa National Refuge, and the surrounding area. This year was the 25th anniversary of the Quartzsite RV Show. Under a huge tent, there are hundreds of vendors who want to sell their products to us. There are several RV dealers who allow us to visit the interior of RVs and trailers of all kinds. One of the dealers offers everyone a pancake breakfast every morning. This show attracts tens of thousands of people with their RVs. People park all over the place and gather in small groups of friends as seen in the video and photos. Cibola National Refuge, near Palo Verde, is a migratory bird sanctuary where we saw a large number of geese, ducks, great egrets, sand hill cranes and a beautiful coyote. On our way back, we drove on both sides of the Colorado River. We stopped to visit the Oxbow Recreation Area which is a beautiful campground that we would love to stay in the future. Close to Quartzsite we also visited the Kofa National Refuge where we drove to the entrance of the Palm Canyon. We traveled around the area and visited the small towns of Hope and Wenden as well as the numerous flea markets of Quartzsite and the Hi Joly monument. We also saw fields of cottons.
